- I think I know what Mike is getting at, because I have a similar
- problem. It's not a "stupid user hasn't installed it" problem, it's
- a simple case of "untested software refusing to work on some setups".
-
- I don't actually get a message about a custom library, but Snoopdos
- tells me that IBrowse has attempted to open "cybergraphics.library",
- and failed. OK maybe this isn't the cause of my problem at all,
- which is this:
-
- Whenever I try to open an HTML document, I get a message saying that
- IBrowse was unable to load the file, please mail to this bug report
- address etc. (which I'm about to do, if their mailhost hasn't
- collapsed under the weight of bug reports coming in...)
-
- It happens with or without running AmiTCP first, it happens if I go
- to the URL field at the top of the screen and key in a
- file://localhost URL, an http://localhost URL (I run AWS) or a
- http://somewhere.else URL (with or without trailing /, or trailing
- /index.html). It happens too when I go to the menu and select 'Open
- Local File'. It /doesn't/ happen when I select 'Open Location' from
- the same menu - when I do /that/ absulotely nothing happens.
-
- To cut a long story short, I have a web browser which won't display
- any HTML files! :-( I hope it's something they can fix easily,
- because even for an alpha version with lots of disclaimers, it's very
- disappointing!
-
- While we're at it, has anyone else experienced problems with MUI 3.2?
- The preferences program for MUI 3.2 *and* for IBrowse comes up in
- Topaz/4! A bit on the small side, but I just about managed to read
- it well enough to find the settings and change it - only to discover
- that upon selecting Save or Use, it reverts to Topaz/4. A side
- affect is that when I change the preferences, IBrowse sometimes gets
- kicked off the MUI public screen back onto the WB (until I quit and
- restart IBrowse).
-
- Is this a new bug, or is it another thing to persuade people to
- register? (Though it would only ever persuade me to forget using MUI
- completely). OK, I /could/ read the documentation, but TBH I don't
- expect to plough through the manual every time there's an upgrade,
- just to be able to retain the functionality I already had.
-
- Here's hoping it's just an unfortunate bug...
